Early December.
A journey begins.
In the Zurich wine country, in the small village of Wildensbuch, a small shop for model railways opens.
Esther and Stefan E. Wiederkehr set up a shop around the existing model railway layout in a former laundry building.
Soon, the range was expanded to include well-known brands.
2019
In spring, we visited the company Gebrüder Märklin & Cie. in Göppingen.
Our tour participants were given a tour of the factory to see the production of model railways in action.
After lunch, there was still time to visit the new Märklineum.
A coach took us there and back safely.
Our customer base has continued to grow.
To give them an opportunity to exchange ideas, we organised a morning pint for model railway enthusiasts on ‘Model Railway Day’.
H0 AC and DC track systems were available for operation in the hall of the Wildensbuch community centre.
Coffee and cake were served. It was a successful event.
2020
The model railway was removed from the shop during the pandemic.
New shelves and a test track needed space. The selection continued to grow.
Customers could pick up ordered goods in the tent without personal contact.
2022
Full of enthusiasm, we put an end to the period of deprivation.
The previous shop was bursting at the seams. We needed more space, better lighting and plenty of display area for what had become a large selection of products.
2023
The centrepiece of the shop, the new test system with display case lift, has been installed.
2025
1. WHD trip ‘Rhine-Lake Constance’
A long-cherished dream is finally coming true.
We are travelling with our customers on a special train with the BDe 4/4 2 railcar from the dsf Koblenz association to the Rhine and Lake Constance.
Visits with many exciting impressions at Lokgesicht.ch in Etzwilen and Locorama in Romanshorn make the leisurely round trip a great experience.
Many want to sign up for the next trip right away.
We'll see.
2nd WHD trip to the Black Forest
We have received many registrations for our 2nd WHD trip.
A modern coach from Moser Reisen in Flaach will take the railway enthusiasts to the various stops.
Participants will visit the Black Forest Model Railway in Gutach, the Sternen Manor in Breitnau (Ravenna Gorge on the Höllentalbahn railway) and, as a highlight, take a ride on the 3Seenbahn museum train with steam locomotive from Titisee to Seebrugg/Schluchsee.
The journey home takes us through the beautiful Klettgau region, the well-known wine-growing area in the canton of Schaffhausen.
2026
3rd WHD trip ‘Seetal-Sihltal’
Our customers are already looking forward to our 3rd WHD trip.
It is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 3 May 2026, with the tried-and-tested BDe 4/4 2 railcar from the former Wohlen-Meisterschwanden Railway.
We want to discover unknown railway lines that are no longer served by scheduled passenger trains.
