WHD trip on a special train, Sunday 2 May 2027, Rhine – Jura – Gilberte de Courgenay

Train journey with the BDe 4/4 2 railcar from the former Wohlen-Meisterschwanden Railway and the ABt 157 control car (formerly of the SOB),  Koblenz Depot and Rail Vehicles Association on routes not used for scheduled public transport services:
Koblenz – Laufenburg, Basel RB Jura Loop, the Bötzberg–Südbahn link, the Mägenwil, Mellingen–Baden Oberstadt–Wettingen link. Zurich-Seebach – Glattbrugg.
 

Journey on a special train from Koblenz to Schaffhausen to the first stop for passengers to board. Via the Rhine Falls Bridge and the Thur Bridge at Andelfingen to the second stop for passengers to board in Winterthur. Further passengers board in Bülach.
The journey continues along the Rhine via the Koblenz–Laufenburg route to Basel RB, and from there via Delémont to Courgenay for the lunch stop.

Lunch is served at the well-known restaurant " La petite Gilberte", where lunch will be served. Musical entertainment will be provided by the HUSERBUEBE folk band and Maya Rymann.

From Courgenay, we travel to Moutier station to change direction again.
The route takes us via the Weissenstein Tunnel to Solothurn. We follow the southern foothills of the Jura to Olten, from where we branch off and take the old Hauenstein line to Läufelfingen and Pratteln. Here comes the next change of direction. We continue along the Bötzberg line via the Brugg connecting line to the Südbahn, the Mägenwil connecting curve to Baden-Oberstadt–Wettingen, then on via Zurich-Seebach and Eglisau to the first stop in Schaffhausen.
Once again over the Rhine Falls Bridge and the Thur Bridge to Winterthur (second stop), Bülach (third stop) and on to our train’s home station, Koblenz.

Lunch served in Courgenay at the restaurant “La petite Gilberte”: a set menu with a choice of meat or vegetarian options (drinks not included).
